Behind the Canvas
A blank wall is loud. It stares at you until you fill it with something that actually means something.
We didn't start ARTO to be another "big-box" decor site shipping thin, plastic-feeling prints that warp the moment the humidity changes. We started it because we were tired of seeing the same generic designs in every apartment. We wanted art that felt substantial—something with enough weight and soul to turn a house into a proper home.
The Material is the Message
Most people don't ask about the weight of their canvas, but we do. It’s the difference between a piece that sags in two years and one that stays tight for twenty.
- The Weight: We use a 400 gsm cotton-poly blend. It’s heavy, museum-grade, and has that specific texture you only get from a high-quality weave.
- The Bones: Our frames aren't made from cheap scrap wood. We use FSC-certified pine. It’s kiln-dried and finger-jointed, so it won't bow or shrink. When you pick it up, you can feel the sturdiness.
- The Ink: We use HP Latex and Greenguard Gold certified inks. Why? Because art should be vibrant, but it also shouldn't smell like a chemical factory. It’s safe for the nursery and tough enough for the sunniest living room.
From a Studio, Not a Warehouse
Whether it’s one of our 100% hand-painted oil pieces (where you can actually see the physical depth of the brushstrokes) or a custom pet portrait that captures that specific look your dog gives you—everything is handled by real people.
We aren't a massive, faceless corporation. We are a small team that obsesses over taut corners, crisp edges, and packaging that can survive a trip across the country without a scratch.
We make art for the people who care about the details. Thanks for letting us put something honest on your walls.
